Diane Hennacy Powell, M.D is a neuroscientist and Johns Hopkins-trained psychiatrist whose research currently focuses on autistic children reported to be telepathic and/or precognitive. She has been on the faculty at Harvard Medical School, a member of a part-time think tank on human consciousness at the Salk Institute in La Jolla, CA, and The Director of Research for the John E. Mack Institute. Her investigation into the neurocorrelates of ESP is discussed in her 2008 book The ESP Enigma: A Scientific Case for Psychic Phenomena, and in a chapter to the 2012 book, Seriously Strange: Thinking Anew about Psychical Experiences, an academic compilation that arose from a private symposium sponsored by the Brueninger Foundation.
