Inspired Maria, so she’s paying it forward 🙂 Kick off of Brain Injury Awareness Month – March Dr. Maria is a fellow brain injury survivor who works full-time as a hospital pathologist. She had to learn to become her own self-therapist to prevent “brain-injured moments” at work and at home. She says, “My cognitive impairments may be permanent, but disability is negotiable.” Her goal is to help other survivors learn to operate their brains in a new way in order to minimize disability and optimize their own recoveries.
